ContraBaix is a program network carried on in various cities of Catalonia and involves different associations, private venues and local civil services. It develops its musical line from jazz to blues going through songwriters, folk or world music, both small and large formats.

ContraBaix won the award for the Best Regional Initiative at the IV edition of the "Premis de Reconeixement Cultural 2005". These awards, organized by the Centre of Regional Studies of Baix Llobregat, are devoted to reward the work of individual persons and regional organizations in culture promotion.

Contrabaix was also recognized for its work promoting live music by the board of directors of the "Associació de Músics de Jazz i Música Moderna de Catalunya" in 2006.
