Motives Festival is an international jazz festival that was created in 2004 by the non profit association "Personal Mountains".
The program is based on concepts of discovery, creation and experimentation. Therefore, the festival is situated at the crossroads of contemporary - and, above all, creative - jazz and privileges a program "of the beaten track".
Motives Festival particularly wants to insist on the perpetual renewal that characterizes jazz music. It invites its public to discover artists exploring new evolutions of jazz, pushing the traditional boundaries of jazz.
It also supports confrontations and research between jazz and other artistic disciplines such as multimedia, dance, film, contemporary art and new technologies.
The festival initiates and presents new creations including all kinds of artists willing to explore new territories of jazz. This is, by the way, an aspect that the festival will develop even more in the near future.
