Erik Truffaz Quartet feat. Nya

The quartet led by Swiss-French Erik Truffaz significantly changed the 90's jazz scene and impressed both audiences and critics with his enthusiasm for experimentation. It all began with Truffaz' second album «The Dawn» (1997), which was strongly influenced by the electronic sound concepts of the Norwegian scene and was recorded with an acoustic line-up. Hip-hop and drum'n'bass grooves ousted the swing and rapper Nya featured as a guest. On the follow-up album «Bending New Corners» Truffaz successfully further developed the fusion concept, the album sold more than 100.000 copies in 1999. Now, 20 years later, there is a reunion: together with rapper Nya, Marcello Giuliani (bass), Marc Erbetta (drums) and Benoît Corboz (piano/Rhodes), Erik Truffaz resurrects these groundbreaking albums.
