LantarenVenster is a professional arthouse for movies and music. The old venue used to be downtown Rotterdam. In October 2010, the organisation moved to a different building at the Otto Reuchlinweg. Of six halls, five are meant for cinema uses. The other hall is the stage for music concerts or other sorts of events. Approximately 600 persons can enjoy a movie and 300 seated to 400 standing persons can attend a concert or event.

LantarenVenster is a foundation, a non-profit company, subsidised by the City of Rotterdam. There’s a broad diversity in music genres and artists. The company’s aim is to host two or three concerts a week, mainly jazz concerts, but also some world and pop music.
