Her cool, sultry, vibrant and, at times, playful voice has wowed audiences in intimate café gatherings as well as theater and concert venues. Donna has a wholesome presence that is fun, energetic and simply memorable. We caught up with Donna recently to ask a few questions about her life, her music and her influences. What advice would you offer to other artists? Work for your dream. Who in your family influenced your career, and why? My father, and my twin sister, Dawn, were my biggest influences. Dad had a great love for the jazz musicians of the 30\'s, 40\'s, and 50\'s and introduced us to a world of quality music. Dawn and I grew up listening to the greats and this gave me the inspiration and courage to sing. She is a perfect audience and my Number One fan. How did you become a Jazz Musician? By listening to a lot of jazz music. Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Oscar Peterson among many. I realize you teach/mentor young students at your school, do you often bring Jazz into the conversation? I bring Jazz and many genre\'s into my classroom. Educating and cultivating students into any art-form is a great, fun challenge for me. I do make them aware that jazz is one of the only true original art forms in America.
