DEE DEE BRIDGEWATERDee Dee Bridgewater is one of the true Divas of Jazz. Since she released her "Dear Ella" album in 1997 she has headlined festivals all over the world and enchanted audiences with her entertainment skills as well as with her singing. She is a true performer and for this summer she will bring a new band on tour featuring Latin-Jazz saxophonplayer David Sanchez. The ultimate entertainer !!  e.s.t.The band released their new album "Seven Days of Falling" on September 22, 2003. And within 8 weeks sold more than 50.000 copies. "Seven Days of Falling" entered the pop-music charts in Germany, Farnce and Sweden - which is not bad for a jazz piano-trio without vocals. In November the DVD "Live in Stockholm" followed and immediatly was a big success, receiving rave reviews all over Europe. Selling out shows in venues like the Royal Festival Hall, London or Cite de la Musique in Paris they can definitely be considered the hottest ticket in Europe !!  EIVIND AARSETEivind Aarset will release his new album in April on Jazzland / Universal and shall be one of the highlights in the coming festival summer. His unique style of guitar work has brought him great recognition all over the world and his performances are always highlights of the festivals. Underground guitar hero !! MONTY ALEXANDERMonty will go on tour with his "Rocksteady" project. The new CD will be out on Telarc which will be called "Rocksteady" and features Ernest Ranglin amoung others. For the past decade Monty Alexander has mixed mainstream jazz playing with music from his home country Jamaica. Legendary is his Bob Marley Tribute and his work with the DJs Sly and Robbie. Legends at work !!  VIKTORIA TOLSTOYThe great-great grand daughter of Leo Tolstoy made a name for herself at the early age of 19 with the very successful CD "Smile, Love and Spices". She was the first Swedish artist to record for the legendary lable Blue Note and the album "White Russian" - produced by Esbjörn Svensson was a great success. In late January Viktoria will release her new album "Shining On You", produced by Nils Landgren and all music composed by Esbjörn Svensson, the pianist of e.s.t. The New Voice to Discover !!  ON THE EDGEOn The Edge is a band project of German keyboard-guru Simon Stockhausen and Australian multiinstrumentalist James Morrison. This rather unusual cooperation came about as both musicians met for a Lalo Schifrin project with the WDR Big Band called Esperanto. Although coming from two totally different musical worlds there was a mutual understanding between Simon and James from the beginning, and the idea of the band-project "ON THE EDGE" was born. Last summer the band got together and recorded their first CD live at the Opera House in Sydney. After a short European tour last November the band is ready to hit the European Festival Circuit. The ultimate performer !!  BEADY BELLEBeady Belle have been touring heavily in 2003 with their new album "Cewbeagappic" (Universal) in Europe as well as in Canada and Japan. The band around singer Beate S. Lech has left audiences stunning with their special mix of dance oriented jazz music. Especially the perfomance at last years North Sea Jazz Festival has been outstanding and was referred to many times. Fun and Dance Music at its best !! MALIAHer debut album "Yellow Daffodils" sold more than 100.000 copies in Europe, entered the pop-music charts in several countries. Her video to the song "Purple Shoes" has cult status and was aired on MTV and M 6, and critics called her the "Macy Gray" of jazz. The new Soul-Jazz Diva !! ERIK TRUFFAZErik Truffaz has changed mode with his last album "Steps of the Giant Turtle" (EMI) and now rocks the house with an incredible mix of Milesque trumpet playing, great melodies and heavy rock rhythms. In autumn Erik performed a whole string of concerts in the large rock and pop concert halls in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. Let´s rock the house !! GERARD PRESENCERHis debut album "Chasing Reality" on ACT was a true success and several of the titles from that album have ended up on Ministry of Sound samplers in the meantime. Gerard mixes a Miles style trumpet with drum and bass rhythms and recognizable melodies which makes him one of the most sought after studio musicians for pop productions. He recorded and performed with Sting, Jamiroquai, Elton John, Tina Turner, Robby Williams, Charlie Watts, but also with Radiohead, Micatone and Zero 7 to also name the hipper club acts. Definately an artist to discover !!! STEFANO DI BATTISTAThese days Stefano di Battista is one of the leading saxophonists on the European scene. He was discovered by Michel Petrucciani and played in his sextet for quite some time. Later Elvin Jones engaged him for a world tour with "Elvin Jones´ Jazzmachine". In the meantime Stefano tours with his own quartet around Europe and has become a household name on the festivals scene. Europe´s leading saxophonist !!  JANE MONHEITRight from the get-go Jane Monheit was hailed by the critics as one of the new female jazz singer superstars. In the meantime she has released three albums and has toured the world several times. Her singing and performances have matured during this period of growing up and she is up to the burden of critical praise and expectation from her audiences. Her beautiful voice with perfect intonation and her looks have earned her a great audience all over the world. One of the leading voices of the new generation !!  LALO SCHIFRINAfter several years abscence from the summer festival cicuit Lalo Schifrin comes back this year with several projects with symphony orchestra or big band!
